Moovel Mobility App to Utilize Slack Messenger

Moovel mobility app

Making the whole of Germany a more convenient landscape for urban transit-users, the moovel mobility app is now available in the Slack messenger service, providing public transport information and showing the international availability of car2go vehicles.

moovel brings together two of the latest tech-trends: Via the moovel bot, users of the Slack messenger service can now access public transport information for the whole of Germany and also find out where all available vehicles of the car2go car-sharing provider are within a certain radius.

What is moovel?

moovel is a mobility app that allows users to access a network of urban mobility options, which can then be booked directly and paid for using the app.  Facilitating urban mobility, moovel has partnered with Slack to simplify the communication.

“The classical application is a user who sits at their desk in the office and wants to know when the next bus leaves or whether a car-sharing vehicle is available close by. Slack is the ideal platform for us to test the moovel bot”, says Eileen Mandir, Head of Product moovel Group GmbH.

What else is available via moovel?

moovel also provides service for the car-sharing providers car2go and Flinkster, as well as mytaxi, Taxi-Ruf, bicycle rentals and Deutsche Bahn. Since April, 2016, users have also been able to purchase public transport tickets to the Hamburg Transport Association using the moovel app. Tickets for the Stuttgart Transport Association have been available on the moovel mobility app since November 2015.

With over 3 million active users daily, the Slack messenger service is being used more and more by businesses, often from the start-up sector as an office management tool.

Eileen Mandir, Head of Product moovel Group GmbH: “The use of Slack has significantly assisted us in the change from a push communication to a pull communication.” It is planned that the availability of the moovel bot be expanded to include other messenger services.
