movmi has worked with ReachNow for quite some time and we are proud to be part of the team that designed the product behind ReachNow latest city and service expansions. ReachNow is BMW’s premium carsharing program that was launched earlier this year in Seattle and Portland and has experienced tremendous growth over the last 8 months.

ReachNow Press Release Summary, November, 2016

The announcements in the latest ReachNow Press Release include:

New Mobility Services: ReachNow recently debuted four new mobility services: Ride, Reserve, Share, and Fleet Solutions for residential buildings. The new mobility services offered by ReachNow include RideSharing, Scheduled Rental Reservations with Delivery, Peer-to-Peer Car Sharing, and Station-Based Residential Fleets.

Expansion into Brooklyn, NY: ReachNow continues its rapid growth into Brooklyn, NY, which becomes ReachNow’s third North American city and marks the company’s first expansion beyond the West Coast of the United States.

Mobility At Your Fingertips.

ReachNow builds on its premium experience by offering members greater versatility through an array of convenient and easy-to-use transportation solutions, available in a single app for the first time. ReachNow has created an unprecedented mobility services ecosystem by including transportation options to meet every individual lifestyle and need. The four mobility services that will launch as pilots in select cities over the next month include:

Ride: ReachNow members seeking an on-demand ride service can order a driver as well as schedule individual and recurring rides in a ReachNow BMW vehicle. ReachNow’s Ride on-demand service will launch as a pilot program in Seattle on Dec. 8, 2016.

Fleet Solutions: ReachNow Fleet Solutions will offer residential members an unparalleled level of convenience with exclusive use of BMW i3 electric vehicles and BMW 3 Series that remain onsite at select apartment and condominium buildings or complexes.

Share: MINI owners of 2016 or 2017 model year vehicles are invited to join the ReachNow Share pilot program in Seattle. Share enables MINI owners to rent their vehicles via ReachNow when they don’t need access to it, helping to offset the cost of car ownership.

Reserve: Beginning in October, ReachNow members who wanted to use the vehicles for longer trips of 2 to 5 days could select a vehicle via the ReachNow app and see multi-day price caps automatically applied. To make longer usage even more convenient, ReachNow Reserve will enable members to schedule a vehicle to be delivered at their preferred time and location.

MaaS

No MaaS. No Multimodality.

Previously, movmi looked at transportation plans from 20 municipalities across Europe and North America and found how MaaS can be designed and tailored to suit the needs of small and big municipalities. In an effort to make access to alternative mobility modes as easy, are MaaS platforms able to strike a balance between mobility service providers (MSPs) and end users? While changing behaviour cannot be achieved without a truly user-centric seamless approach, are business interests of MSPs being considered enough?

In this article we explain how MaaS:

1. Creates a reliable, seamless multimodal user experience.

2. Improves visibility for MSPs in a sea of options available to users.

3. Ultimately increases alternatives for the users and create a rewarding ecosystem for existing and new MSPs to offer the best of their services towards a multimodal future.

5 Climate Change Success Stories

Change does not usually happen overnight, especially within the transportation sector. Our vision of a sustainable transportation eco-system, significantly reducing GHG emissions and effectively turning the tide on climate change, just isn’t progressing as fast as we would like and this can be disheartening.

However, we have seen climate change success stories over the last few years, that have given us hope and the encouragement to continue working to reduce GHG emissions and to fight climate change.
