Our latest edition of our Women in Shared Mobility series features 3 women who operate a carshare company and 1 researcher in the industry. Incredibly intelligent and well-versed in the world of shared mobility, we’re very honoured to be sharing their insights with you below.

HOW WILL SHARED MOBILITY CHANGE IN THE NEXT 5 YEARS?

From Michiko, an environmental researcher, and three women operating a carshare company, we gained valuable insight about how the trend of carshare will continue to grow in the future.

WHY IS SHARED MOBILITY IMPORTANT FOR OUR CITIES AND COMMUNITIES?

From money savings for families to taking stressful daily commutes out of the equation to reducing the level of greenhouse gas emissions to create a healthier planet, we learned about why carshare and autonomous vehicles are important for cities and communities from these 4 women.

Jimena Pardo is the Managing Director and Founder of Carrot Carshare in Mexico. Located in Mexico City where intense traffic and long commutes are a part of most citizens daily lives, Jimena is well-aware of the need for carshare in her city as well as around the globe’s metropolises.

Pam Cooley is the founder of Carshare Atlantic. She is also a professional facilitator specializing in fostering collaboration and facilitation of multi-stakeholder challenges. For over 30 years she has been known as a “practical visionary” and has launched and has facilitated many successful social/entrepreneurial endeavours.

Victoria Carter is the Co-Founder of Cityhop, a New Zealand carshare program. Also a carshare advocate encouraging the public to become #onecarless, Victoria speaks with Councils and Government to help them recognize the beneficial impact of carshare.

Michiko Namazu is a Ph.D. researcher for Institute for Resources, Environment, and Sustainability at the University of British Columbia.
