Who We Are
movmi is an award winning WBE Canada certified (Women Only Business Certification) boutique agency specialized in Shared Mobility Architecture: the design, planning and launch of new shared mobility services. Our work spans research, planning and the co-creation of new shared mobility services (MaaS, micromobility, microtransit and carsharing).
The electrification of transportation is well under way with governments subsidizing and incentivizing EV sales, creating charging infrastructure and promoting zero emission vehicles, which is great news for our emission and noise problems in cities. But we also need to shift from ownership to shared mobility if we want to tackle congestion, economic disparities and use our limited resources more efficiently.
Our team has extensive expertise in all aspects of Shared Mobility Architecture. With our involvement entire communities have shifted their travel behaviour in over 60 shared mobility projects worldwide. Our clients range from public agencies and municipalities, to Fortune500 companies as well as new mobility startups.
As a women-owned business we have made diversity, inclusion and a collaborative approach part of our DNA. We are an official signatory of the United Nation’s #weempower principles and have been fostering dialogues and programs around inclusion and diversity for years. Our team is gender, racially and experience diverse.
In 2020 we launched our first ever ‘Empower Women in Shared Mobility’ award. The program was created to promote female led mobility ventures with the winner receiving 12 months of mentoring from movmi as well as numerous networking and PR opportunities.
We have curated a community with more than 55 diverse shared mobility innovators. All of this allows us to provide our clients with studies, pilot programs and policy recommendations that are cutting-edge and inclusive from the start.
Our founder, Sandra Phillips, shares an alternative vision to the personal car for getting around. It’s focused on an ecosystem of public transit AND shared mobility where customers can choose the right mode of transportation for whatever trip they want to take. This will save GHG emission, save valuable urban space and individuals thousands of dollars every year.
