Who We Are
movmi is an agency focused on Shared Mobility, from micromobility, carsharing to Mobility-as-a-Service.
We build healthier communities by co-creating innovative mobility solutions that increase transportation options, while reducing dependency on private car ownership.
Our services include research, education and the co-creation of new shared mobility services.
We specialize in Shared Mobility Architecture: the design, planning and launch of new shared mobility services and we have won several awards for our work.
Our nimble, 6-person team has extensive expertise in all aspects of Shared Mobility Architecture. movmi’s team has been involved in over 70 shared mobility projects worldwide, including numerous carshare, micromobility and Mobility-as-a-Service projects. Our clients range from public agencies (e.g., TransLink, State of Luxembourg, City of Vancouver, City of Calgary, Vélib) to Fortune500 companies in the private sector (e.g., BMW, Honda) to new mobility startups (e.g., Superpedestrian/Link, Sparrow, Revel, Velometro/Veemo).
As a women-owned business we have made diversity, inclusion and a collaborative approach part of our DNA. We are a WBE Canada certified (Women Only Business Certification) business and an official signatory of the United Nation’s #weempower principles. We have been fostering dialogues and programs around inclusion and diversity for years. Our team is gender, racially and experience diverse. In 2020 we launched our first ever ‘Empower Women in Shared Mobility’ award.
We have curated a community with more than 60 diverse shared mobility innovators. All of this allows us to provide our clients with studies, pilot programs and policy recommendations that are cutting-edge and inclusive from the start.
Our founder, Sandra Phillips, shares an alternative vision to the personal car for getting around. It’s focused on an ecosystem of public transit AND shared mobility where customers can choose the right mode of transportation for whatever trip they want to take. This will save GHG emission, save valuable urban space and individuals thousands of dollars every year.
