Project Approach

RideLink is Metro Vancouver’s first ever Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) solution developed solely to increase sustainable transportation modeshare. It does this by integrating 1 bikeshare and 2 carshare services with the region’s public transportation network and providing a single platform for users to access multimodal mobility options.
Launched in April 2024, RideLink is in its pilot implementation stage, providing a mobile app that helps users register, trip-plan, book, and pay for all services without the need for any other service provider app or login credentials. The success of the RideLink pilot phase will significantly enhance the convenience and accessibility of multimodal transportation for Metro Vancouver residents.

Our expertise in shared mobility solutions was instrumental in the app’s development, ensuring seamless integration of various transportation services. The team was responsible for overall project management, including RFP writing and helping TransLink secure a $0.5M grant through the Green Mobility Fund program (GMF) by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM). Once approved, movmi was responsible for stakeholder management, including all mobility service provider partners, advising the technical development of the app and its features, and analyzing and measuring ongoing results through anonymized and aggregated trip data.
